Dear Guild Members,
All is going well and I hope you are all excited about attending the Masterworks II concert, “Fighting for Freedom”, November 12th at 7:00 p.m. The MOSC has asked for 100% attendance from our guild for this first concert in the new Wagner-Noel Performing Arts Center. There will be a section reserved especially for guild members who RSVP to the MOSC at 563-0921. You can use your flex pass and I encourage you to bring some friends who are not in the guild. Let’s show our support and be there!!
On a more personal note, Victoria Arellano and Sam Smith represented Odessa in the Austin Jewel Ball on October 13-15. They looked great and had tons of fun. The food, friends, and events were fabulous. The weekend started with the Knight’s Dinner on Thursday, followed by the Fashion Show Luncheon on Friday and a fantastic rehearsal dinner that evening. Saturday started with morning rehearsals, followed by separate luncheons for moms, dads, jewels and escorts, then lead into the pre-ball reception and finally, the Jewel Ball, “Moonlight and Magnolias”. It was a very long and fun-filled weekend and I am honored that Victoria was chosen to represent Odessa and the Odessa Symphony Guild. Thank you!
If you attended the last meeting, you should have received your raffle tickets. Please get those sold and monies turned in as soon as possible. If you have not already received your raffle tickets, expect to pick them up at the meeting, November 15. We are trying to keep a better handle on that part of the fundraiser.
Also, Senior moms need to be sure that you are meeting your requirements as well, because your deadline to fulfill them is beforethe ball. Senior moms must attend two meetings prior to the ball and work their shifts. If you did not attend the October meeting, then you must attend the November and January meetings. Seniors must also meet their shift work requirements before the ball. Please, do your part so that you can participate in the ball.
Our website is up and running!! Thanks, to Sheila Pippins and Sharman Adkins for getting the ball rolling on that! Specific people will be trained on how to update the website. Be sure to check it out for the latest information. I am planning a day for guild members and belles/beaux to tour the new PAC, so keep your ears and eyes open for that information coming soon. Please read the entire newsletter. It will have important information about the Gala Ball and what you need to be doing to meet your requirements. Remember, let’s have a huge turnout for November 12th!! Thank you for all your hard work and support. You are truly appreciated.
